e7arts is a membership organisation open to anyone living or working in the London Borough of Newham and its surrounding areas, over the age of 18. Professional artists of all art forms, those with a social interest in the arts, or community members who are keen to see more art happening in their area.

e7arts aims to encourage the arts to flourish by developing a forum for artists, a creative network, facilities, premises, resources and ongoing arts programmes within Newham. This will reach, involve and empower the whole community, reflect and celebrate cultural diversity, improve the quality of life and contribute to social inclusion strategies

e7arts History

e7arts grew out of the Forest Gate & Plaistow SRB Community Consultation in 2000 and research undertaken by East London charity Aston-Mansfield. As a result of support from the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) and funding from Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF) in 2003 we became a formally Constituted Organisation with a Committee and full time Arts Development Officer. In 2005 we were sucessful in applying for SRB funds which has enabled us to recruit a full time Project Manager and part time Administrator and we are now in the process of becoming a limited company and registered charity.

e7arts Workgroups

Can’t stand meetings? e7arts is an organisation that needs input in many ways in order to succeed. Your help is needed on long and short-term projects. We need people who are happy to volunteer their time to conduct vital research, put forward interesting plans for future developments, and to produce innovative events. We have therefore established the following Workgroups:

Fund-raising – researching and putting together e7arts funding bids.
Policies and Procedures – producing handbooks for members, committee and staff.
Events – organising e7arts events.
Professional practice – researching and producing guidelines for professional practice within all art forms.
If you would like to become part of an e7arts Workgroup please email info@e7arts.org.

Many thanks to our current funders 2005-6:
